We seek a well-rounded Cataloging Associate to join our team of auction house professionals.

In this full-time, hourly position (requiring 40-50 hours per week), you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently presenting estate, personal property, and auction merchandise in an appealing, informative, and concise manner. You will catalog a wide range of items including antiques, vintage and contemporary furniture, decorative arts, fine art, jewelry, luxury goods and more. You will also coordinate and manage post-auction pick-ups, and liaise with consignors, clients, customers, and BRG team members. Plus, you'll get to travel to some of the most extraordinary estate locations throughout the NY/CT metro area!

Common responsibilities include:

• Accurately catalog and document items including descriptions and measurements
• Work with estate teams (i.e., photographers, estate manager, materials handlers, etc.) maximizing cataloging sessions with speed and accuracy
• Professionally communicate and collaborate with internal departments ensuring completion of pre- and post-auction activities
• Research and verify the authenticity and provenance of items (as needed) via internet, reference materials, and/or expert contacts
• Be a constant ambassador for the BRG brands

Requirements:

• Understanding of estate liquidation industry
• Knowledge of antiques, artwork, collectibles and /or unique items with the ability to assess value
• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in art history, history, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent proofreading and editing skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Polished, professional, and empathetic demeanor
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, but accepting of constructive criticism
