Job Summary

As the Athletic Trainer Associate - Football, you will gain experience and become efficient by assisting the Associate Director of Sports Medicine- Head Football Athletic Trainer and supervising team physicians with the delivery of athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams. This position is for certified athletic trainer's looking for an opportunity to gain experience in power 5 football. Responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting in providing service care given of emergency needs of student-athletes
  • Assisting in providing immediate Rx rehabilitation for patients
  • Assisting in providing supervision of returning student-athlete to athletic activity
  • Assisting in providing appropriate documentation of care
  • Assisting in supervising athletic training curriculum students as assigned
  • Assisting in maintaining appropriate medical records for student-athletes health care
  • Assisting in executing administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Sports Medicine- Head Football Athletic Trainer
  • Assisting to address other related health care problems as assigned by the Associate Director of Sports Medicine- Head Football Athletic Trainer and/or supervising team physician

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from CAAHEP accredited athletic training education program (Master’s Degree can be from CAAHEP accredited athletic training education program)
  • Experience in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and/or Athletic Training
  • NATA-BOC certification and ability to obtain Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy Degree
  • Must adhere to and comply with Purdue University, Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA applicable rules policies, procedures, rules and regulations‎
  • Travel

Preferred:

  • Master's degree

  • The position is for 1 year duration with the option for an additional 1 year renewal for a maximum of 3 years
