What You Will Achieve
We are seeking an entry-level solution engineer to join Pfizer Digital’s R&D Solutions organization and contribute to streamlining Pfizer’s R&D operational workflows that enable data driven decision-making. You will apply your software engineering skills in modern web user interface design and development, analytics pipelines, and database technologies to digitize drug discovery processes that bring breakthrough medicines to patients. You will work closely with Vaccine R&D stakeholders to align the solutions with the evolving needs of the scientific community while ensuring system usability, robustness, scalability, and maintainability.
How You Will Achieve It
- Collaborate with Vaccine R&D scientists and Client Partners to understand their workflows and digital needs, design and implement minimally viable products (MVP) from an initial set of requirements, employ agile methodologies for rapid solution evolution.
- Communicate the future state of a system to users and client partners using wireframes and workflow diagrams.
- Learn new vendor platforms to deliver meaningful application updates.
- Work in a matrix, team environment with Pfizer colleagues (both Digital and R&D) as well as vendor partners.
- Work on projects that range from small-scale where you are the lone solution engineer, to those that require effective collaboration with other solution engineers as part of a broader team.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, bioinformatics or related fields, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience delivering informatics solutions in the biopharmaceutical realm.
- Programming skills in JavaScript, Java, Python, R, SQL, NoSQL, or other languages.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer experience
Nice-to-Have
- Understanding of Agile / DevOps
- Experience in modern web technology development
