Summary:
The Materials Associate is responsible for ensuring that adequate levels of supplies and raw materials (meat) are scheduled and delivered into the facility to ensure that the plant can run effectively and efficiently.
Specific responsibilities of the position will include the following items.
- Daily monitoring of materials requirements using the following: Purchase Order submission and updates, Buyer messages, Management of daily supplies and meat deliveries, Reconciliation of material receiving issues.
- Generate daily delivery schedule outputs.
- Fulfill the claim process for supplies and/or meats by filing claims and ensuring the timely receipt and follow through of credit processes.
- Timely disposition of QA hold products.
- Effective communication with vendors using accurate forecasts, monitoring overages and shortages, and maintaining the Supplier Accountability Scorecard.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments within the plant to complete projects.
- Complete invoice management.
- Provide cross-coverage with Master Data, Formulations, and Planning.
- Complete any additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Formulations and/or Materials Manager.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- A high school diploma, or equivalent level of education, is required. An Associate Degree is preferred with a focus in Materials or Logistics.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of Materials, Logistics, or Production related experience.
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office Proficient utilizing Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Above average SAP experience is preferred.
Communication Skills:
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to interact professionally with all levels of the Tyson Organization from Team Members within the plant to the Corporate Office.
Travel: As needed for professional development and training purposes (10% of the time or less).
Relocation: Although this role indicates "Yes" to Relocation Assistance, that is a System Error, this role does not provide Relocation Assistance.

- Display sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Problem-solve in an efficient manner with sound and detailed follow-up.
- Excellent safety and attendance records.
- Ability to work with department heads to meet safety goals, production goals, and quality yields.
- General understanding of plant operations
- Ability to manage multiple projects
