Kimberly-Clark Corporation ("K-C") seeks to hire a dynamic and experienced attorney for the position of Associate General Counsel – Litigation. The position is based in Dallas, Texas, and will report to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel of Litigation, Regulatory & Preventive Law. This attorney will be part of a team that manages a global litigation and arbitration docket, including consumer products class actions, government investigations, commercial disputes, IP, employment, competition, environmental, toxic tort, and personal injury matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the legal strategy as an active participant on the complex, diverse, global portfolio of litigation matters facing the company;
  • Anticipate and mitigate risk to deliver value and drive the best results for the company;
  • Provide clients with timely and strategic litigation advice;
  • Manage outside counsel and budget while maximizing value and effectiveness; and
  • Serve as a member of the Global Litigation team working collaboratively to accomplish the team’s goals and objectives.

Reporting:

This position reports to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel – Litigation, Regulatory & Preventative Law.

Ideal Experience, Qualifications, Capabilities:

  • J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admission to and good standing in any state bar or the District of Columbia bar
  • A minimum of ten (10) years as a practicing attorney in a litigation practice at top-tier law firm or large multi-national company
  • Experience with international matters, including international arbitration, is a plus
  • Ability to direct and manage activities of, and relationships with, outside counsel
  • Vision and experience in strategic initiatives beyond tactical implementation
  • Innovative thinking that challenges the status quo
  • Ability to balance legal and business needs, assessing appropriate risk to make tough decisions
  • Ability to demonstrate sound and independent judgment, prudence, and maturity; ability to act independently and work collaboratively across to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects and ability to organize and analyze complex information and data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills, to work with all levels within the organization and have executive-level presence to interact with regional business leadership
  • Successful experience collaborating across organizational and cultural boundaries
  • Desire to drive personal performance through coaching, feedback, and ongoing development

Travel Requirements: 10-15%
