We are currently seeking an Associate Engineer at our Zebulon location to join ourEngineering team which supports our operating facilities. If you are an energetic, self-motivated team player looking for a new and exciting opportunity, this is the environment for you!

Essential Functions:

· Apply engineering best practices to continuously improve the performance of our operating facilities

· Assess and take action to assure reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) of all Braven process equipment and supporting operations

· Interface with Facility Operations staff to address all issues that affect RAM, support RAM improvement projects, and assure proper measurement, validation, analysis, and control of operations from a RAM perspective

· Analyze day-to-day operating data to assure our production facilities are operating optimally and initiate and manage corrective action when they are not

· Provide data-driven process analysis, support operational planning, and assure technical readiness of unit operations

· Be the primary engineering resource for our operating facilities supporting day-to-day operations, short-term improvement projects, upgrade projects, and production

· Identify and execute effective engineering projects to support operations

· Initiate and lead contact engineering support for our operating facilities providing data-driven process analysis, support operations planning, and assure technical readiness of unit operations

· Interface with Technology Project Engineering, internal and external engineering resources, Equipment Planning and Compliance and Maintenance supporting all aspects of process engineering, development, analysis, and improvement

· Assist in development of maintenance practices, stocking strategies, turnaround and operations planning, and process evaluation to support machine uptime and capability

· Develop recommendations to resolve quality control issues

· Troubleshoot production problems

· Provide project engineer support to facilities that are under development and construction

· Provide support to business development regarding required attributes of business arrangements

· Interface with Construction and Implementation and Installations to assure our operating experience and RAM considerations are properly evaluated, considered, and addressed in the procurement, assembly, installation, and commissioning of our new facilities and upgrade projects for current facilities.

· Assure Braven operating experiences inform and support design basis of future projects, process development, and multi-facility improvement projects.

· Help maintain the design basis of our process technologies and our technology roadmap

· Undertake cross-cutting engineering projects that support multiple facilities

· Assist in progressing long and mid-term technology and process development

· Performs other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Strong process engineering aptitude

· Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

· Knowledge of hydrocarbon processing

· Ability to communicate to audiences of broad background

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering

  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Understanding of chemical processing operations (e.g. distillation, reactors), process instrumentation and controls, and rotating equipment
  • Ability to perform cross functionally throughout the organization and drive initiatives forward

Certifications & Licenses:

· EIT/FE preferred

Physical & Safety Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, stretching, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping and bending with your body, arms, and/or legs

· Must wear job specific personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Participation in all safety and OSHA trainings

· Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
