Acara Solutions clients in the Cancer Research field is looking for a 100% Associate Data Engineer to join their team!

Job Title:
Associate Data Engineer

Contract Details: Direct Hire/Fulltime


Compensation:
$94k

Work Setting: 100% Remote (Must be located in the U.S.)

Time to Fill: ASAP


Major Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a large scale, high-density, data platform to be used for a variety of research / analytic purposes.
  • Complete data integration from multitude of sources into our cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand their current and future data needs.
  • Collaborate with the director of data science to the complete data strategy roadmap.
  • Document the architecture and solutions for business continuity.
  • Work with analytics engineer to build out best in class data models for data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with data scientist(s) and machine learning engineer to build best in class data models for statistical modeling and machine learning.



Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of building a modern data pipeline, including the ETL, cloud-storage, reporting, and deployment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computational Biology, or equivalent experience. Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with cloud services such as, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud, AWS
  • Deep expertise with SQL, and other languages such as NoSQL, python, etc.
  • Experience working with dense data such as images / genomics.
  • Ability to understand the data needs of researchers, such as epidemiologist and cancer researchers, guiding them to the best practices for their data.
  • Experience with Snowflake, particularly data integration from multiple sources.
  • Experience with data integration tools like Rivery.io, Fivetran, etc.
  • Experience with healthcare data, such as claims, electronic health records, biospecimen, medical imaging, genomic data.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Snowflake certification, or willing to complete within first 6 months of hire.
  • Exposure to BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Looker.
  • Experience working with data science tools, such as JetBrains.
  • Experience with survey data.
