- Education: Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts and techniques of business management as acquired through the completion of, at minimum, a B.S. degree with a major in Business, Hospital Administration, or Behavioral Health related degree from an accredited college or university. Prefer a Master’s level degree.
- Training and Experience: At least five years of experience in a managerial or leadership role in a healthcare setting. Preferred experience as a leader (clinical or administrative) in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
- Job Knowledge: Working knowledge of clinical practice, organizational behavior, human resource management, group dynamics, business and financial reports, accrediting/licensure standards, guidelines and legal implications, and regulatory guidelines applicable to clinical areas.

DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Vice President of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overall system leadership of the behavioral health service line across the Unity Health enterprise. This position will work in a dyad relationship to the Medical Director to achieve the clinical, operational, and organizational objectives of the service line and Unity Health behavioral health programs. Oversight includes, Adult Psychiatric Units, Geriatric Psychiatric Units, Adolescent Psychiatric Units, and Clarity Health and Wellness outpatient clinic. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Accountable for quality of patient care delivered, maintaining sufficient and appropriately trained patient services staff, and application of social, economic, and legal principles impacting the delivery of patient care.
- Fiscal accountability includes budgetary planning, reviewing performance of services, evaluation of opportunities for growth, and review of opportunities within existing programs.
- Serves as a role model for medical center mission, vision, and values.
- Strategic planning and development of both short- and long-term plans for program growth and development.
- Developing collaborative and mutually respectful relationships with the Dyad Medical Director, site medical directors, clinical and administrative leaders, peers and systems leaders.
- Embodies the Unity Health values of Kindness, Excellence, Expertise and Stewardship.
- Serves as a mentor for leaders within the areas of responsibility and helps leaders develop their personal potential.
