The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Assistant Research Scientist position to conduct research on dopamine neuron synaptic signaling, relevant to neuropsychiatric disorders in mice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supervise breeding of transgenic mice
- Extract tissue for molecular and cellular analysis
- Perform immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridization, western analysis
- Conduct mouse behavioral experiments
- Facilitate lab compliance with institutional policies, procedures in the areas of safety, environmental and infection control
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Psychology or Neuroscience, with two years of relevant lab experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Neuroscience experience preferred.
RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination.
