Duties and Responsibilities
Non-Tenure Track Exercise Science Faculty
The Department of Applied Health Sciences, in the Parkinson School of Health Science and Public Health (PSHSPH) invites applications for one full-time 9 month, non-tenure track Assistant Professors in Exercise Science. The full-time non-tenure track appointment will begin August 2023 and includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
Exercise Science students are part of a multi-disciplinary School of Health Sciences and Public Health that involves clinical and non-clinical programs in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Dietetics and Exercise Science. Students receive a transformative education in the Jesuit Catholic tradition, preparing leaders in the health professions to enhance the health of persons, communities, and the larger global environment through the discovery, application, and dissemination of knowledge; and service with others.
We are currently seeking one faculty for our growing Exercise Science program. This position is a 9-month faculty appointment. Principle responsibilities include teaching, scholarly productivity, advising graduate students, and working collaboratively with faculty and administration in strategic growth and development of the Exercise Science program. Ability to work collaboratively within shared research space, and evidence of successful university teaching in exercise science, kinesiology or a related discipline. Communicates research/scholarly work by presentation at local, state and regional conferences. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have research expertise that is in line with or expands upon the expertise of existing faculty in Exercise Science.

Teaching assignments may include the following content areas: anatomy and physiology, clinical exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation and EKG interpretation. A background in clinical exercise physiology is preferred. Previous academic experience with diverse populations is highly desirable. Qualified applicants will also demonstrate a history of supervisory and/or leadership experience; experience establishing clinical and community partnerships; evidence of curriculum design and development; involvement in professional organizations (ACSM, NSCA or equivalent).
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
