Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Unit Director of the PTU/PACU/TRU, the Assistant Nurse Manager/ Assistant Unit Director /ANII is responsible for assisting with the clinical management and administrative coordination of the daily operations of the PTU, PACU, and TRU. The incumbent will apply leadership management and maintain professional standards. The Assistant Unit Director will coordinate with the UD in the development of budget and unit goals; identify areas of improvement and implement action plans; supervise and guide the staff in providing quality patient care to ensure patient safety and patient satisfaction; monitor staff performance and provide feedback and participate peer evaluations of the staff. He/She/They is responsible for (but not limited to) the input of staff timecards; oversight of the daily scheduling; participating in the daily huddles and staff meetings; participating in staff/applicant interviews; staff coaching; supporting the staff to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and the application ASPAN, the Joint Commission Standards; and be a leader in maintaining Magnet status. He/She/They will provide guidance and leadership to the AN1s and Clinical Nurse Educator. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Clinical duties include acting as the Charge Nurse when needed and being visible and available to the staff as a resource person.

Salary range: $47.27-$117.10 Hourly

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years acute care experience required.

Minimum 2 years experience in PTU/PACU required.

Active and unencumbered CA RN license required.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.

BSN/MSN required.

Progressive leadership/management roles, including the Charge Nurse role and AN1 Lead Nurse required.

CCRN, CPAN, and CAPA desirable.

Leadership certifications such as CNL, NE-BC, CNML (among others) desirable.

Previous UPC roles/ involvement in the Unit Practice Council desirable.
