Position Description:
The Assistant Director of Development will focus on fundraising for priorities and initiatives of the College of Business. The Assistant Director will be responsible for building and managing relationships with donors and prospective donors while working collaboratively with the staff of the College of Business Development team, Office of Development, faculty and other members of the campus community to develop and manage a portfolio and giving pipeline. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and in compliance with Affirmative Action. A high level of personal and professional integrity is a must, along with the ability to communicate effectively and frequently with colleagues.
Salary will commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
Preferred experience in non-profit fundraising or higher education. Experience in sales, cold calling, etc. is preferred.

Self-driven and goal oriented, the individual will be adept in handling multiple priorities, and act with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, creativity, and cooperation, with internal and external constituents, and in compliance with Affirmative Action guidelines.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.

Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed annual goals as defined each year in a personal assessment scorecard.
- Manage the leadership annual fund ($5,000 - $10,000) donor pipeline for the College of Business. This will include:
- Working with the Office of Prospect Development to identify potential donors.
- Conducting discovering activities to qualify potential donors.
- Soliciting leadership annual fund gifts.
- Moving potential through the pipeline as appropriate, including cultivating donors to handoff to the major gifts pipeline ($25,000+).
- Assist in the coordination of alumni and donor engagement opportunities to cultivate major gift donors to the College of Business. This will include:
- Assist in planning and/or directing cultivation events or programs to foster interaction between donors, senior leadership, and students at the University.
- Liaise with the Annual Giving office to strategize, create and implement annual giving solicitations specific to the College of Business.
- Liaise with the Alumni Relations team to strategize, create and implement alumni events/programs specific to the College of Business.
- Develop and manage strategies for stewarding prospects and donors.
- Assist development staff in establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans for all categories of donors.
- Work with internal stakeholders to produce timely and meaningful individual stewardship plans.
- Work collaboratively with administration, faculty, advisory board members, volunteers, and others in the Advancement Office and across the university.
- Represent the University of Louisville at key development and alumni events and fundraising or donor engagement opportunities.
- Maintain and continually update prospect and donor records in Advancement database platform including prompt entry for call/contact reports.
- Some evening and weekend work required.
