Assistant Director, Employer Engagement

Primary Function: To draw from independent analysis, industry best practices and professional experience to strategically cultivate and strengthen the relationship between employers and NCC students, alumni, staff and campuses in an ongoing effort to implement a NCC employer engagement strategy.
Responsibilities: Working with administrators, faculty members and alumni to: (1) Build and coordinate the employer engagement function to include but not be limited to: (a) Developing and executing a targeted outreach to employers to secure Job Shadow and Internship hosts, industry experts, career panelists and employment connections (b) Connecting with and engaging campus entities; (c) Preparing and delivering impactful communications using various mediums, tools and technologies; (d) Actively planning, coordinating and engaging in variety of activities, including but not limited to career fairs, employer-specific information sessions, networking and other career-related events; (e) Collaborate with Student Life and Leadership, program directors, club advisors and faculty to continually improve student participation rates in career/alumni events.; (f) Manage the Handshake Career and Job Platform, supervising the periodic upload of student information to the platform, maintenance, and collecting and analyzing report data as required (Serve as the resident Handshake expert); (g) Assist career advisors in meeting with students who are seeking resume or interviewing assistance (25% of the position). (2) Perform all other duties as assigned.
Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Director of Career and Alumni Services for performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Work cooperatively with member of the faculty and administrative team. (3) Relate role to College goals and mission attainment.
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with other members of the administrative team, faculty, students, employers and other members of the community.
Qualifications: (1) Education: Attainment of a Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree in business, or other relevant discipline from an accredited college and/or demonstrated work experience (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) keen understanding of academic culture; (b) ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff, students, administrators and employer representatives; (c) exceptional public relations’ skills to introduce and represent NCC to internal and external constituencies; (d) demonstrated ability to organize and work independently and as part of a team; (e) demonstrated competency to serve in an administrative capacity; (f) Strong negotiation, advisory and consultative skills; (g) Proven abilities in marketing, planning , and data management; (h) Commitment to cultural diversity; (i) Develop and implement policies, practices, systems, procedures for employer engagement; effectively follow-up, track, and measure desired outcomes and/or task as needed; (j) Able to conduct executive level interactions, presentation and reporting with employer professionals and high ranking faculty & staff; (k) Understanding of experiential education and as it relates to academic curriculum, skill building, career and personal development of students; (l) Proficiency with MS Windows environment; (m) Possesses a professional demeanor that thrives in an intense, fast paced environment. (3) Experience: Business development, student engagement, sales, employer engagement experience preferred. Human Resources or career development experience a plus.
