Description:The Graduate School of the University of Notre Dame seeks a strategic and highly collaborative faculty member to serve as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Diversity Initiatives. The Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Diversity Initiatives will work collaboratively with other deans, faculty, and units at the university engaged in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to support graduate students and other trainees from underrepresented groups. The Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Diversity Initiatives will be responsible for developing and implementing curricula and programs with the goal of increasing diversity in the graduate population. Specifically, this individual will work closely with Graduate School associate deans to develop pipeline programs to aid in recruitment to the University of Notre Dame Graduate School; plan and carry out research strategies that inform and support the achievement of equitable outcomes for graduate students from historically underrepresented groups; develop and teach a course focused on preparing undergraduates from historically underrepresented groups in the academy for graduate school success; coordinate a one-year post-baccalaureate program for underrepresented groups in science, technology, engineering and mathematics; teach in the summer research opportunities program for undergraduates; and secure external funding to support new and existing diversity programs. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and mentorship and be committed to the goal of a more diverse and representative academic community.
The Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Diversity Initiatives will be a member of the non-tenure-track faculty. The position is renewable annually.

- PhD or other terminal degree is required.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and mentorship
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and execute training programs
- Experience in developing grant proposals
- Experience mentoring trainees from diverse backgrounds
