Pro Impact Physical Therapy and Sports Performance has an Assistant Athletic Trainer job opening at Auburn University at Montgomery, in Montgomery, AL. AUM is a member of NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the care of student-athletes participating in the Auburn University at Montgomery athletics program;
  • Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes while participating in AUM sports;
  • Coordinate all aspects of team care pertaining to assigned teams;
  • Evaluate acute and chronic injuries, fabricate protective equipment, provide daily treatment;
  • Administer emergency care, schedule appointments / referrals;
  • Implement prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes;
  • Maintain detailed and current medical records;
  • Attend all assigned team practices and competitions;
  • Assist in daily maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment;
  • Educate athletes on injury prevention, management, and return to play;
  • Communicate daily with all members of the sports medicine staff, athletes, coaches, athletics administration and physicians;
  • Assist in the processing of medical insurance claims and related information;
  • Collaborate with sports medicine staff to update emergency actions plans and policies and procedures documents;
  • Train all coaches and staff on respective emergency action plans;
  • Oversee inventory and purchasing / restocking medical supplies and equipment;
  • Assist with pre-participation screening and physicals for athletes;
  • Administer preseason concussion baseline testing and follow-up testing as needed;
  • Help organize randomized drug testing procedures;
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CATEE Accredited Program;
  • Maintain current certification and continuing education requirements as set forth by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification;
  • Maintain current state licensure in accordance with the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers;
  • Maintain current certification in CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care and First Aid.
