The West Palm Beach Engine Center (EC) Assembly Engineering Organization is seeking a highly-motivated and capable individual to be Assembly Manufacturing Process Engineer in support of Commercial and Military Engine Programs at the West Palm Beach, Florida Engine Assembly Center (EAC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain production engine assembly floor specifications (AFSs) , work instructions using Solumina software (including specifications, engineering changes, quality assurance, process control documents and tooling definition and requirements).
  • Assisting the hourly workforce with troubleshooting issues and provide real time resolution.
  • Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent process turn-backs and escapes and continuously reduce overall assembly costs.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with planning, acquisition, and start-up of necessary capital equipment, facility, and special test equipment needed to meet capacity, engine build plans, and new program introduction.
  • Collaborate with the hourly work force (mechanics, inspectors, operators), tool designers, quality engineers & quality assurance personnel, integrated product teams, systems & module designers, information systems personnel and program assembly partners are typical of the position. to achieve goals
  • A high level of proficiency and working-knowledge of Continuous Improvement Tools is required including Process Certification & Management, Standard Work, quality control process charting (QCPC), Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction & Mistake-Proofing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and 1+ years of experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace manufacturing assembly engineering experience, including engine system and test processes
  • Experience in SAP
  • Experience writing, approving, and issuing work instructions within Solumina environment
