We are searching for an Arabic linguist to support Defense Intelligence Agency at Quantico, VA.
Responsibilities:
Linguists will work in a very fast-paced, fluid environment. This role may require working occassional nights or weekends. Linguists are required to perform a broad range of tasks, not just translation. This role will require regular use of Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat as well as a variety of customized tools and databases.
Required Qualifications:
- Will be required to complete a CI Poly before employment.
- Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 3 (General Professional Proficiency) or above in both English and the target language. The client requires current test scores of ILR 3 or higher in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for both the target language and English.
- Provide written translations or gists of provided documents or material
- Provide advice on regional and cultural issues related to the geographic area of the target language
- Use of standard Microsoft Office Products
- Provide quality control of the translations of others
- Update related knowledge management tools
- Use appropriate formats to produce required content
- A current, active TS/SCI clearance #AvantusClearedJob
- Successful Completion of Pre-Employment Background Investigation required.
- The status of applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Executive Order 14042 are subject to change depending on applicable court orders and the course of ongoing litigation. Candidates may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption.
- Strong preference for candidates with a CI Poly, especially any who are DIA cleared
- BA/BS highly desirable but not strictly required
- IC experience - CI/HUMINT preferred
- Strong communication and briefing skills
- Ability to work well both independently and on teams
