Job Description:

The successful candidate will serve as the Application Operations Manager reporting to the Applications division. This position is responsible for managing a team supporting applications deployed to AWS that were part of the Application Modernization Initiative, and more. The Application Operations Manager will also be responsible for leading a team that troubleshoots these applications, coordinating the deployment of patches and AWS service upgrades as needed. This role offers the opportunity to work with teams such as development, infrastructure, and security. Lastly, it requires critical thinking and creative problem solving, along with an understanding of industry best practices and AWS cloud experience, to operate these services.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

TASKS:

• Oversee operational team and give strategic direction to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
• Serve as day-to-day operational manager and adhere to change & incident request processes
• Send out daily communications including status, risks, issues, escalation, etc.
• Overall operational coordination including management of resources
• Coordinate all documentation for projects and create all deliverables defined by the client Applications: Custom Application division
• Coordinate with various groups within to ensure the successful completion of migrations to the test and production environments
• Lead the cross-team coordination of all pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment operational activities across the various teams
• Work with Tech Leads to address technical challenges/risks/issues that affect the operations of an application
• Participate in operational after hours on-call rotation as needed.

• Able to manage the team's time effectively, and plan for future operational requests.
• Keeps calm under pressure while providing guidance to an operational team, particularly in an outage scenario.
• Able to adapt to a changing environment and incorporate new technologies as needed to increase the operational efficiency of the team and supported applications.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Self-motivated, must be a proven team leader
• Able to lead the team to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Experience with migrating enterprise applications from on-premises to cloud infrastructure.
