Job description
Reporting to the manager of the CFAES Eastern Agricultural Research Station, the manager-animal herd (Farm Coordinator 4) coordinates operations for beef cattle and sheep production in support of the research and extension projects; manages operations to provide daily animal care and welfare, including animal health care; provides oversight to feeding, forage production, rotational grazing and pasture management to meet research objectives; assists with implementation of research in coordination with supervisor, faculty and staff according to project protocols; collects data and samples and keeps operations records; communicates observations that may affect research outcomes to supervisor and investigators; assists with supporting events, field days and extension programs; operates, adjusts and repairs farm machinery; installs and repairs fences; maintains/repairs animal facilities and grounds; periodically works an adjusted schedule including weekends and holidays; position is located Caldwell, OH.The offer for this position will be based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
