Working for our Digital Business Line
Our digital business line develops digital solutions to support the sustainability transition in the energy sector. We design and develop software as a service integrating the different activities of Laborelec to help and empower our customers.
Our teams are specialized in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Measurement Systems, Software and Embedded Software Engineering, and Industrial Cyber Security. Altogether, we develop solutions for both external customers and for Laborelec business lines.
Our solutions for customers are typically the outcome of close collaborations between business colleagues (energy experts), product owners, and digital experts. We provide solutions of different types such as industrialized software (for commercial solution), prototypes or proofs of concepts (for R&D projects) and various digital services to help people to be more efficient and propose new services. The contexts of projects include: energy systems of tomorrow, including houses & electrical vehicles, condition monitoring of industrial installations, etc.
Context of the job
In the context of applied mathematics in a broad sense, with a focus on data science (including data processing and statistics), modelling, optimization, algorithmic, numerical computing, we are currently looking for an analyst and project engineer in mathematics
As an analyst and project engineer in mathematics
- You will need to analyse Problem & use-case (business, functional and technical) and formal definition (functional & technical specifications), very close to the business and to engineers from other fields;
- You will need to make some studies, documentation of R&D findings with scientific communication and public presentations;
- You will also take part to small projects
with the possibility to contribute to the solution development:
- Depending on experience, technical design and architecture in collaboration with senior developers;
- Programming, possibly in collaboration with other members of our team (analysts, designers, programmers, mathematicians);
- Long-term solution lifecycle, keep-it-running and support;
- Support and help projects and people within Laborelec.
You may be our future colleague if you…
- You have a master degree in applied sciences or computer science, or equivalent;
- You have a good background knowledge and/or strong interest in AI and applied mathematics fields: Data science, Optimization, Algorithmic, Signal Processing, Graph theory…
- You have a general IT knowledge;
- You have good communication and analysis skills;
- You are rigorous and pay attention to details;
- You have a proficient working knowledge of English.
Will be considered as a plus:
- Knowledge and experience of the Python programming language, and scientific libraries
- Experience in IT project management
- Experience in IT functional analysis
- Experience in mathematics applied in the industrial sector
- Experience in the energy sector
- Experience on projects including data acquisition and monitoring from hardware devices
- You speak either Dutch or French
