Advertising & Website Coordinator
Full-time/Hourly - $23.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience.
COMMUNITY PROFILE
Sun City Anthem (SCA) is a Del Webb developed community located in Henderson, Nevada, the second largest city in Nevada, with a population of nearly 330,000 residents. Developed in 1998,the beautiful and expansive 55+ active adult community covers 3,500 acres with 7,144 homes. SCA is home to approximately 12,500 total residents.
The community is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors who typically serve two-year terms. SCA amenities and facilities include three clubhouses with 130,000 square feet of recreational space including three indoor swimming pools, two outdoor pools, tennis courts, pickle ball, bocce, a 300-seat performing arts theatre, fitness centers, group exercise rooms, privately owned and operated day spa, and a grand ballroom.
SCA has nearly 60 chartered clubs and operates its own television station. SCA maintains a Community Patrol, a Community Service Group, a Neighborhood Watch Program, and an Emergency Preparedness Service Group.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Advertising and Website Coordinator position is a full-time/ non-exempt position. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the website and for the creation and delivery of advertising and sales programs for Sun City Anthem Community Association, Inc.’s print magazine (Spirit). The position’s responsibilities are approximately 60% Advertising and Sales and 40% Website Content Coordination and Management.
SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
- Basic math skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Extremely creative and inventive.
- Ability to compile, analyze, and communicate data.
- Must have basic working knowledge of computer and other office equipment, i.e., fax, multi-lined phone system, and copier.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be familiar with web developing software.
- Ability to scan photos into digital images.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Advertising and Sales
- Identifies potential clients, promotes advertising space, offers cost estimates, handles account paperwork, delivers sales presentations, and recommends advertising formats.
- Persuades clients to purchase company advertising products and services by communicating the benefits of various types of advertising.
- Builds and sustains long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Maintains client accounts and responds to potential clients’ inquiries.
- Research competitors’ advertising services, products, and prices.
- Assists the Communications Department marketing team in the preparation of media kits and promotional plans.
- Attends sales meetings, trade shows, and training workshops as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Website Content Coordination and Management
- Works closely with the Communications Director and the Communications Coordinator, who is responsible for maintaining the company website, to ensure that the website meets the organization’s aims and objectives.
- Reviews club and committee submissions to ensure copyright and intellectual property violations do not occur.
- Uses web-authoring software to perform both routine updating and ongoing development of the website.
- Contributes to website content and provides instruction to clubs to enhance their webpages.
- Uses the principles of good website design.
- Prepares copy, proofreads, if needed.
- Works closely with the IT Department in maintaining host, registration, and security issues.
- Updates website weekly.
- Respond to e-mails within 48 hours or sooner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have manual dexterity required for use of typing, writing, answering phone, and other basic operations.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, push, shove, lift, carry and move objects that can weigh up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to exchange and receive information through oral communications.
- Ability to recognize similarities and differences between sounds.
- Ability to see well enough to read faint, or partially obscured, writing or printing with or without corrective lenses.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
EQUIPMENT USED
- Computer, printer, mouse, copier, fax, scanner, POS system, multi-line telephone/voice mail, and digital camera.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school degree required, Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
SAFETY
Incumbent required to comply with established safe work practices and attend all safety-related training provided or made available by the Association.
