DESCRIPTION:

Trane Technologies is looking to hire an Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing solutions within the Residential HVAC & Supply business unit. This role will support the business’s safety, quality, productivity, capacity and customer satisfaction goals.


The position offers opportunities to leverage skills with manufacturing equipment and processes, control systems, and automation to deliver manufacturing process solutions across Residential HVAC manufacturing sites. This role has full accountability for development and implementation of manufacturing solutions for existing products, manufacturing footprint changes, and new products. In addition, this role is responsible for manufacturing capacity planning for all sites and products across the Residential business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and develop manufacturing process solutions, including tooling and equipment specifications/requirements, manufacturing site requirements, business case, process and material flow for manufacturing processes including sheet metal forming/stamping, copper/aluminum brazing, tube cutting/bending, automated/integrated fabrication lines, proprietary/custom-designed processes, assembly, and testing/inspection.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing site engineering, product engineering, and machine builders/integrators in the development of new and modified manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for project execution, including scope definition, resource planning, cost/budget planning, project schedule development and tracking, and risk management.
  • Coordinate and support multidisciplinary new technology and new product development processes.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing process flows and workstation layouts.
  • Drive innovation to reduce product and manufacturing costs utilizing Lean, Six Sigma and 3P tools.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • BS Engineering preferred or equivalent technical degree
  • 10 years of manufacturing engineering work experience, with experience in fabrication and assembly processes
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with implementation of automated processing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Two (2) years’ experience with manufacturing process support
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with new product launches
  • Experience with project management, PMP preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent training preferred
  • Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation software and typical computer applications
  • Proficient with 3D CAD/modeling software

Travel: This position supports multiple sites, and travel to vendors and manufacturing sites is required to support the position’s core responsibilities. Estimated travel ranges from 0%-50% depending on project and site requirements.

Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000
