Position Summary

The Leave Administrator, under general supervision, is responsible for providing guidance and support to employees, managers, and HR staff for questions, issues, and problems related to all types of Leaves of Absence. This position must ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures in addition to required federal, state, and local regulations. We are seeking a candidate that will display attention to detail, commitment, professionalism, and a sense of urgency. The ideal Leave Administrator will be a detail-oriented individual with superb organizational skills, a results-oriented multi-tasker with exposure to human resources, with a focus on employee leave and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Alongside Leave Manager, interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable company policy and federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
  • Independently approves and/or denies leave requests based on relevant information for the type of leave requested. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Works closely with associates and employees to ensure that all relevant completed leave documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all employees and their managers on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work from leave.
*Responsible for timely entrance of new leave of absences and returns to work in HRIS system. *Responsible for communicating approvals, denials, return to work status, and other important information to managers and employees.

  • Assist Leave Manager with all administrative aspects of leave include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with Payroll to ensure that pay for employees is accurate and correct.
*Assist Leave Manager with coordination of company PTO and sick leave payments with other types of payments (STD, LTD, workers compensation, or state funds) to the employee while they are on leave. *Partners with HR to review employee requests for ADA Accommodation and return to work restrictions.

Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Some HR work-related experience preferred.* Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Expert collaborator who builds strong relationships with HR partners and business leaders and able to make
recommendations to upper management.
  • Ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, time management, and priority setting skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) product suite and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred
