The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care services. In juvenile justice, ACS manages and funds services including detention and placement, intensive community-based alternatives for youth, and support services for families.
As part of DYFJ Human Capital Team the Administrative Coordinator will provide a wide range of administrative tasks to the support the daily operations of the Division of Youth and Family Justice.
Specific responsibilities may include:

As part of DYFJ Human Capital Team the Administrative Coordinator will provide a wide range of administrative tasks to the support the daily operations of the Division of Youth and Family Justice.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Provide direct administrative assistance to DYFJ Senior Management including the Deputy Commissioner, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Advisors, Associate and Assistant Commissioners and others as necessary.
- Manage schedules for meetings/conferences, training, recruitment, activities, events, etc.
- Support training coordination for the division.
- Assist with recruitment and staffing efforts.
- Respond to requests for information.
- Preparation of letters, move matrix, reports, organizational charts, Personnel Service budget, correspondence, and other documents.
- Serve as a liaison with other internal and external administrative staff, including staff within payroll, personnel, and facilities, as well as external stakeholders.
- Maintenance of system of records, including data entry and filing.
- Perform data entry and maintaining up to date information in systems of record.
- Serve as a point of contact directing incoming correspondence to the appropriate person; and sorting and scanning incoming and outgoing mail.
- Plan and coordinate special projects for youth, families, and staff.
- Supervise administrative support staff (as assigned).
Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.

Additional Information
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $67,499 - $75,000.
