Purpose of the Job: To perform a variety of administrative and secretarial support by providing street and drainage record keeping and preparing and processing reports and correspondence.
Duties: Issue and process purchase orders and work orders for repairs, maintenance, and other functions; calculate, process and prepare monthly records for work orders; handles and prepares timekeeping and payroll information, prepares reviews; edits and proofreads routine correspondence, outlines, speeches and drafts; monitors division expenditures; prepares annual Streets and Drainage budget for Deputy Director Approval; prepares petty cash statements; responds to all Friendswood Questions and Concerns and FOIA requests; prepares files from record retention; handles incoming and outgoing telephone calls for repairs, inquires, complaints, and line location requests.
Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D.; valid Texas Driver's License; formal training equivalent to less than 1000 in-class or in-house hours or less than 2 years of college; 3 to 5 years responsible, responsive administrative and secretarial experience in a position requiring the application of routine policies and procedures; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software; Previous experience with a municipal government and bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
