What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Certification: none (passing scores on the following competency assessments basic math competency, typing test, basic word, basic excel, basic windows)
- Experience: minimum four years’ clerical/administrative. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong customer service orientation. Computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Excellent organization, verbal and written communication. Ability to perform multiple tasks and detailed work, problem solve, reason and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What you will do:
The purpose of this job is to provide advanced administrative support for the Department of Neurosurgery, its Chairman, and key department leaders.
- Provide administrative support – facilitate departmental correspondence including confidential correspondence, maintain department salary orders and associated reimbursement and invoicing files, maintain and update the department database and associated files, assist department leadership as requested
- Monitor and facilitate Chair’s daily schedule – schedule meetings, facilitate room reservations, catering and resolve scheduling conflicts
- Coordinate, organize and deploy procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment – inventory and order supplies, assess office equipment, place work orders
- Maintain effective communications with all members of the department – maintain distribution lists, send routine and ad hoc communications
- Reception and telephone customer service – greet all visitors to the department, provide appropriate information and directions, ensure adequate administrative coverage during business hour
