Summary of Work
The essential function of the Administrative Assistant I position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Family Services departments including Child Protection, Foster Care, and Family Preservation. This includes but is not limited to performing data entry, maintaining data bases, preparing correspondence, tracking, and routing documentation, and preparing files for court hearings and trials. This position also requires reception area duties which includes customer service to clients who come into our building and answering phone calls.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of experience performing a variety of complex office support, clerical, or secretarial work. Additional education with major coursework in office support or business or office education may substitute for up to two years of experience requirement on a yar-for-year basis.
Requires the ability to multi-task, computer skills, and experience using general office equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, and work is expected to be performed timely with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle and criminal record check.
