Accounts AR/AP Assistant (In Office)

About the Role:
The ideal candidate for this position is familiar with accounts payable / receivable. This employee is key role that maintains financial records and assists with general day to day tasks within the finance department.
It is expected that the ideal candidate will help define best practices by assisting our CFO with tasks for receivable and payable accounts. They will be primarily responsible for computing, classifying, and recording expenditures and revenue data to keep the company's financial records complete.
WHO YOU ARE:
Must be Bilingual with English and Spanish
Degree in accounting or similar field. Experience with a financial software package is preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software, google Suite products, as well as cloud center software. Proven experience in the following areas:
- Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or another related field may be necessary
- A Certified Public Accounting title may be preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in similar role
- Familiarity with industry-standard accounting software, such as Quicken or QuickBooks
- Working knowledge of database and spreadsheet software, such as MySQL and Excel
- Relevant experience using modern communication systems, including email and phone systems
- Expert-level experience using productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle potential tense interactions with clients
- A desire and ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish daily goals
Data driven, excellent verbal and written communicator with all levels of personnel and customers outside the organization. Acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Detailed oriented required to handle large volumes of work simultaneously. Essential skills include:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.
- Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.
- Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
