Summary: The Accounting Manager aligns closely with the Director of Finance, corporate finance, operations, commercial and supply chain teams. The Accounting Manager is focused on exceeding customer expectations (internal and external) in support of the overall goals, objectives, mission and vision of the organization.
Essential functions for Accounting Manager:
- Support monthly and annual financial close process
- Record journal entries (e.g., Fixed asset activity, depreciation, payroll, accruals, etc.)
- Prepare departmental spending report on a monthly basis
- Support operations team in management of monthly variances
- Support operations team in calculation of savings associated with continuous improvement projects
- Assist with the preparation monthly financial statements
- Manage SAGE fixed asset system for both book and tax purposes
- Prepare weekly cash forecast
- Support audit and tax requests on at year-end
- Support annual budgeting and standard costing processes
- Streamline accounting processes to gain efficiencies
- Ad hoc financial projects as requested

- Input data in a timely and accurate manner and facilitate reporting
General
- Follow all guidelines and standards including but not limited to policies, procedures and practices
- Maintain a professional, polite and courteous team approach working in a team environment
- Sharp focus on safety and promoting a safe work environment. Report unsafe work conditions and practices. Support the near miss program
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

- Develop and foster trusted relationship, both internally and externally, through meetings and various forms of communication including but not limited to telephone, e-mail, web based, and conference calls

Position requirements:
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance position with escalating areas of responsibilities
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment beneficial
- Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work in a very fast paced environment
- Particular expertise in ERP and/or MRP systems
- Proven team player and a sharp focus on customer service and satisfaction
- Ability to successfully work both collaboratively and autonomously
- A high level of trustworthiness and the ability to achieve integrity on all levels
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described herein are generally representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Floors surfaces are hard and are generally tile or concrete. Temperature is moderated by heat in the winter and air conditioning or air circulation methods in the summer. PPE is required and provided.
Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and data documented correctly at all times.
- Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality.
