OVERVIEW:
Antelope’s Accounting Manager is a key position for the company, with the primary responsibility of leading the general accounting activities. The Accounting Manager will lead the General Accounting team, including month-end close, supporting audits & tax compliance, and the development of best practices for the accounting group. The role reports directly to the Controller and will help mold the future of Antelope’s accounting team. This position has the option to be remote or based at our headquarters in New York, NY.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Month-End Close
o Manage the month end/quarterly close and reporting process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for our individual brands
o Oversee all aspects of the general ledger for our individual brands
o Review of journal entries and reconciliations
o Ensure compliance with all internal processes, GAAP principles
o Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reports as required
- Audit / Tax Support
o Support audit requests
o Preparation of information for State & Federal income tax filings
o Sales & Use Tax Filings
- General
o Support the integration of additional CPG businesses into the Antelope platform
o Manage and develop Staff Accountants
o Develop procedures to improve efficiency and maintain company accounting procedures and processes
o Development and roll-out of new processes and integrations
o Support product registrations and other state-level regulatory filings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting roles, preferably at a consumer goods company
- Experience with financial reporting requirements (GAAP, regulatory, tax, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Netsuite or other similar ERP systems (Microsoft, Sage, SAP)
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work in fast-growing consumer companies and the systems & processes needed to manage aggressive business growth
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Must love dogs or cats (& treats!)
