The Accountant ll will be responsible for performing specific tasks in Finance Department which include statutory financial reporting, general accounting, statutory filings and account analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare select financial schedules for quarterly and annual statements
- Responsible for state filing related responsibilities including monitoring state filings checklist
- Update records for new state filing requirements
- Prepare journal entries and assist in financial GAAP closings
- Prepare accurate worksheets to substantiate and document account balances
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to supporting detail
- Provide timely and accurate spreadsheets to Accounting Manager
- Other assignments as needed
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with a penchant for detail
- A quick learner with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent PC skills, with a strong background in Microsoft Excel using pivot tables and VLookups
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting 3-7 years of financial accounting experience. Statutory insurance accounting experience a plus.
