Your day.

As a Fixed Asset Accountant you need to know how to:

• Review construction-in-progress (CIP) activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with SCL Health’s “Capitalization of Assets” policy.
• Review fixed asset transactions to ensure appropriateness with GAAP and internal capitalization policies.
• Maintain fixed asset system (FAS) and reconcile to general ledger and other applicable ledgers. Responsible for FAS data integrity. Assist with related system development and data management such as Strata.
• Assume ownership of Fixed Asset balance sheet accounts. Serve as primary financial liaison to promote client understanding and resolving fixed asset discrepancies.
• Evaluate appropriateness of capital activities submitted through Strata. Determine if this activity can be set up as a capital activity in accordance with the Capitalization of Assets policy and assist in assigning an appropriate Lawson activity number. Prepare required real estate and personal property tax returns. Validate appropriateness of tax bills.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, fixed asset accounting topics with all levels of management.
• Promote and endorse team values and orientation to promote complete financial activities integration.

Your experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent professional experience, required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, required.
• Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred.
