Academic Assistant
Part-Time, Onsite
Primary purpose is to provide supervision for our clients and to ensure their safety while building rapport with them. The includes providing assistance in the classroom and handling individual problems, collaborate with residents’ home schools and parents, and actively participate in the academic team as a member of the residential treatment program.
Academic Assistant Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Updates and prints Daily Sign-in Sheet, Daily Individual Academic Goals Worksheet
- Helps maintain Discharged Clients Notes Worksheet
- Updates, facilitates, or communicates all zoom calls for clients regarding academic work.
- Monitors GoGuardian and takes notes/redirects as necessary; able to train new care coordinators accordingly.
- Maintains record of academic activity for each client during class and in all classrooms.
- Provides substitute teacher support to cover classrooms as needed. (will take CBEST)
- Stays current with Shift Notes and Census changes.
- 1:1 assistance with students as needed, for help with academic work.
- Sends out all Welcome Letters and Introductory Emails to parents of new clients.
- Facilitates all new client’s MWSTUDENTS accounts, orientation and classroom Guidelines/Expectations with new clients and uploads signed Rules To Kipu.
- Facilitate all doctor’s notes for schools.
- Stays current with all Kipu tabs/other department notes to help identify any HotSpots to Teachers regarding any changes in client treatment that could have effects in the classroom.
- Logs and updates information for clients in the Certificate of Completion Spreadsheet, monitor which to be signed, stamped, and uploaded.
- Helps maintain Discharged Clients Notes Worksheet.
- Collaborate with therapists on afternoon groups as needed.
- Collects and Signs off on Level Up Petitions after verifying work completed each week
- Stays current with Shift Notes and Census changes
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Basic Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to function as part of a treatment team
- Prior work experience in the treatment setting with adolescents is a plus
- 1+ year experience working in a class setting as Teaching Assistant
Compensation range for this position is $20-$22 per hour
