Spherion Staffing is currently recruiting for 911 Telecommunicators for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office!

911 Telecommunicators are responsible for receiving and screening routine Non-Emergency & Emergency related calls for Law Enforcement, Fire, Medical, Animal Services and General Public Information.

These positions are Full Time, Temp-to-Hire, long-term careers with advancement opportunities! The hiring process is long and thorough but ultimately worth it as you find your long-term career. ****12 HOUR SHIFTS - DAYS - NIGHTS - WEEKENDS - HOLIDAYS****

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain knowledge of Hernando County's geography, including map reading skills
• Maintain knowledge of Ten-Codes, Signals for Law Enforcement & Fire Rescue, & Routine Office Procedures
• Learn to rapidly & accurately process requests for information, or direction from units in the field and/or supervisory personnel
• Think clearly, logically, quickly and effectively under stress, and in critical emergency situations
• Elicit critical information from citizens in a stressful or life threatening situation
• Maintain clear, concise, and accurate logs while keeping a professional demeanor
• Gain & maintain control of conversations

$17.00 per hour training pay | Full Time | 12 Hour Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | DAYS – NIGHTS- WEEKENDS- HOLIDAYS

After Training Pay: $19 per hour
