Valiente College Preparatory Charter School is a mission-focused community equipped with two cohorts per grade level, small class sizes (under 30), an extended school day (7:30 am to 3:45pm), and the expectation of college preparedness for all students.

All grade level teachers work in Departmentalized Grade Level Teams while some are in self-contained models as well.

Teachers will be responsible for teaching ELA, Humanities, and Intervention.

Qualifications and Experience -Valid California Teaching Credential: Multiple Subjects -Successful manager of an urban classroom who has used structure and high expectations to drive student success -Experienced classroom teacher with demonstrated quantifiable and objective student performance gains -Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs and low skill level in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting -Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members -Two or more years of teaching in an urban area preferred -Spanish proficiency preferred

In addition to the performance duties described above, the following is understood: -The employee must file in the Valiente College Prep office proof that he/she has been found free from active tuberculosis as required by law; failure to do so may result in termination of employment. -The employee shall be evaluated and assessed on a continuing basis. If the employee is not performing satisfactorily according to the standards approved by the Executive Director, employment may be terminated. -This is at-will employment, which means that either employee or employer may terminate the position without cause at any time. -This position requires flexibility. As a growing charter school facing numerous changes and requirements from the California Department of Education and Los Angeles County Office of Education, we, in turn, must change our policies, procedures, and requirements of our employees and students, often without much warning. -As an employee of Valiente College Preparatory the employee is expected to support the policies of the school and represent them positively to the school and general community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
