RemX is proud to represent reputable Manufacturing organization in the Woodstock area seeking for a Product Development Chemist.

Product Development Chemist is responsible for developing cutting-edge formulations that keep pace with the ever-changing marketplace, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation. Resolve supply chain issues, by qualifying new raw materials and vendors. Work with the production team on Quality Assurance objectives as they arise.

Product Development Chemist, will be responsible for the daily activities of the Laboratory (R&D) and any production support activities as needed. Adhere to Quality Assurance Procedures to maintain Quality standards and meet customer expectations. Primary goal will be to develop, maintain and improve products as needed.

Product Development Chemist Responsibilities:

• Develop, evaluate, and propose new formulations and related research initiatives.
• Plan and develop new and robust formulations for the manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate existing products to keep pace with a changing marketplace.
• Perform rheological measurements and other common test methods, such as moisture titration, Karl Fischer, pH, and refractive testing, used for formulation characterization.
• Produce high-quality formulation samples in sufficient quantity for prototyping, within regulatory guidelines.
• Perform pH, density, analysis, viscosity, method validation, linearity, and other related tests.
• Collaborate with Production and support with specific technical data required for scale-up.
• Investigate and test new chemical and packaging materials with purchasing.
• Provide technical data to support regulatory submission.
• Qualify chemical and hardware substitutions and replacements for all formulations.
• Enforce all laboratory hygiene, safety, security, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintain R&D databases.
• Maintain digital archive of lab batches, formulations, and formulation processes.
• Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook for all projects.
• Log and compile stability data into cohesive reports.
• Maintain clean glass and laboratory equipment in the Analytical and Formulation labs.
• Alert Technical Director of any needed repairs, equipment, or resources
• Experience in product development and formulation.
• Understanding of solvent and water-based adhesive formulations.
• Strong knowledge of common test methods used for formulation characterization.
• Experience in providing technical support to production, quality, operations, and other departments. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively present data and findings.
• Experience in maintaining laboratory hygiene, safety, security, and housekeeping policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years formulating experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Aerosol Laboratory, Quality Assurance systems and procedures.
• Regulatory and Environmental experience
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and team coordination skills.
