Job description
Grant Compliance Coordinator needed in Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Monday - Friday schedule with pay - $25 - $30 HR.
Duties will include:
- Accounting experience
- Answering phones from customer regarding business office
- Process cash drop offs
- Prepare accounting transactions
Position Summary This position provides grant management support and services to programs that have been awarded grant funding, maintains, updates and audits compliance with City policy documents, including the City’s Internal Control and Grant Policy Manuals, and other applicable City policies and procedures. Reviews for City Compliance with various State and Federal laws. This position works under the direction of the Finance Director. Essential Functions The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Maintains a system for tracking awarded grant administrative actions (i.e. receipt of notice of grant awards, processing of contracts, MOU's, and agreements, and insure reports are generated by the awarded departments and submitted on time). • Reviews proposals and awards/contracts to identify and track deliverables for progress and compliance to expectations.
- Assists other City departments in the preparation and submission of compliance reports.
- Advises other City departments on how to gather compliance data for reporting purposes.
- Provides technical assistance, and support to all grant awardees to aid in effective and appropriate expenditures of grant monies and effective grant project management.
- Develops and implements a systematic program to review of grant funded projects to ensure comply with contractual agreements, internal policies and procedures, reporting purposes and satisfactory progress toward completion of grant project objectives.
- Coordinates with other City departments to ensure compliance with all grant terms and conditions specified by the funding agency and consistent with relevant regulations.
- Maintains current on OMB grant guideline requirements and assist other City departments with guideline compliance.
- Reviews and processes documents, maintains databases, and provides complex reports. • Assists other City departments with preparing for federal, state and local funding agency audits.
- Prepares the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and State Financial Assistance report.
- Reviews expenditures and prepares the annual budget for City funds whose expenditures are restricted or have specific reporting requirements under Tennessee State Law.
- Files the City’s annual Unclaimed Property and other state and/or federal filings as assigned.
- Assists and audits the City compliance with various state and federal laws.
- Assists with preparation of the City annual budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
- Reviews accounting records; analyzes and audits transactions for proper account classification.
- Reviews, prepares and enters journal entries for recording in the accounting system.
- Responds to public inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner; provides information within the area of assignment; resolves issues in an efficient and timely manner or refers to appropriate staff. J

Skills and Experience:
- Must have 2 years of accounting experience
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Typing at least 50 words per minute
- Must be professional with good phone skills
