POSITION: Digital & Social Media Assistantship
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Promotions
REPORTS TO: Coordinator, Digital Media & Promotions
STATUS: Temporary Full-Time, Non-Exempt (On-site)
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in digital media and/or promotions. This position is responsible for supporting the Communications Department with duties as it relates to OBC programming and events to include but not limited to digital & social media and promotions, in addition to general communications and marketing.
Salary: $2080 monthly /Duration: 6.5 months /Tentative start date: July 2023
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and publish content for OrangeBowl.org website and social media accounts.
- Implement a social media calendar and posting schedule, allowing Orange Bowl to stay relevant and engaged in the digital & social marketplace.
- Proactively monitor accounts and engage with fans via all social media platforms.
- Assist with creation of graphics and video content for emails, social media and website.
- Attend Orange Bowl events to capture photo/video as well as post on social media in live time.
- Develop goals and analyze key metrics and analytics to tweak strategies as needed.
- Support all external communications concerning OBC programming and events.
- Assist with monthly content input for Orange Bowl newsletters and videos.
- Monitor other bowls, college and professional sports social media accounts and websites for new features/ideas.
- Stay on top of website updates to ensure that the website is consistently accurate at all times.
- Create photo galleries from all Orange Bowl events and publish in a timely manner.
GENERAL
- Assistance on special projects as assigned by Coordinator of Digital Media & Promotions, Director of Communications and Senior Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications.
- Assist with organizational long-term strategic analysis and goal-setting process.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Possesses functional knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
- Experience with graphic design in Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with video editing in Adobe Premiere.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Experience managing multiple social media platforms a plus.
- Experience with website content management systems (CMS) a plus.
- Experience with social media advertising and content scheduling software a plus.
- Motivated, highly organized, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when applicable.
- Must be willing to travel locally to community events, production meetings and other Orange Bowl events. Out of town, travel may be required at times.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
