1.0 Director of Project Based LearningRandolph Union is a 7-12 school serving three wonderful central Vermont towns. With a strong and supportive administrative team, progressive teacher leaders, Innovation Center, shared campus with our regional CTE program, and years of deep community connections, RU is a dynamic place to be an educator.We are seeking a Director of Project Based Learning to support teachers in ambitious curriculum that engages students in collaborative approaches to contemporary problem solving. Past PBL courses have focused on topics including Food Systems, Restorative Justice, Racial Justice, Digital Music Production, Climate Change & Income Inequality. The PBL Coordinator will provide professional development, on-the-job training and supports for teachers leading the coursework.The PBL Director will also oversee Senior Project, the capstone graduation requirement at Randolph Union. Senior Project requires all individual students to pursue an area of new learning in multiple modalities, through academic research and in-person mentoring in the community.The PBL Director will report to RU Co-Principals and be a member of the leadership team working in close collaboration with our Director of Career Education and Flexible Pathways and teachers at all grade levels. We are seeking candidates who possess the following: Superb communication skills vis--vis colleagues, students, families, community members. (There is a very strong need for good communication with community, including: PBL curriculum partners, PBL Advisory Board, Sr Project mentors, Sr Project Advisory Board, and other partners.)Ability to facilitate effective teacher professional development, on-the-job and pre-service.Experience with interdisciplinary curriculum development and project-based learning/teaching.Excellent organizational skills, time management.At RU we believe that a schools diversity is essential to its strength as an organization.
