Job Summary

The Chatham County Public Health Department (CCPHD) seeks a positive and self-driven Community Support Specialist who utilizes highly effective communication and organizational skills in a variety of settings and to a highly diverse population. Within the department, the Clinical and Community Health Services (CCHS) division houses a range of services and has recently transitioned out of primary care services to focus on upstream, community-based, and core public health services. The primary purpose of this limited-term position is to support community-based programs, with a focus on COVID-19 interventions to the Spanish-speaking population. It may also include educational programs focused on maternal health and/or birthing. This position participates in community engagement and outreach efforts, including vaccination events.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Fluency in Spanish and a valid NC driver’s license required.

Salary

Grade 55: $32,840 - $39,246
