The Safety Officer will develop, coordinate, and monitor programs to assure compliance with requirements of The Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC) and Emergency Management (EM), OSHA (e.g. hazard communication, injury investigations, and injury reduction efforts), and NFPA (e.g. life safety education, fire drills, and compliance assistance and documentation review). Will also serve as the on-site security contact and facility contract liaison.
What You Bring/Job Requirements:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Three to five years of experience in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, and/or Fire Safety. With a minimum of 1 year within a healthcare organization
- Experience in comprehending, interpreting and implementing the requirements of regulatory agencies such as OSHA, TJC, State health statutes regulating Safety and Environmental Health
- Strong Interpersonal Skills with ability to communicate with al staff, including executives
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in the Safety/Safety Management or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Certification in Healthcare Safety, Security, or Emergency Management upon hire or within 6 months of start date.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)

Pay Range:
$32.30 - $51.65 / hour
