The Medical Billing Specialist - The Medical Coding and Billing Specialist is a medical professional responsible for billing insurances and reviewing claims to ensure correct diagnosis, modifiers and quality codes before processing claims to insurance companies. Prefer someone who has experience with auto insurance medical billing and class 4 laser therapy.

The Billing Specialist - Responsible for reviewing and appealing unpaid or denied claims and works to resolve disputes.

Essential Functions -Accurately codes and bills charges according to medical reports
Scrubbing and verifying that all patient information is correct in the billing system
Correcting and re-submitting incorrect claims submission

Working with insurance companies to resolve claim disputes
Works independently
Reviews and appeals unpaid and/or denied claims
Works directly with the auto insurance company and patients in order to get a claim processed and paid
Following up on requested information in a timely manner

Written communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Able to read and interpret written information accurately
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, ICD-9, coding, and medical terminology including diagnosis codes
Knowledge of documentation systems
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Educational Requirements-College degree preferred
Certified medical coder preferred (certification must be current)
Graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent required
2-5 years of daily medical billing experience required

Compensation
Based on experience

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
