Position Summary:

The Library Collections Assistant position is staffed through the Museum’s staffing partner, Kelly Services, with the location of assignment being at Corning Museum of Glass Rakow Research Library.

The Library Collections Assistant is an onsite, part-time (20 hours per week) position and will report to the Manager, Library Collections and Discovery Services. The assignment is expected to begin as soon as possible with the potential for annual renewal.

Responsibilities:

Rakow Research Library

• Work collaboratively with Library staff on serials collection processes including serials check-in, prepare and process materials for bindery, inventory title runs as needed.
• Perform pre-order searching and assist with gift processing.
• Perform copy cataloging and assist with metadata clean-up projects.
• Order supplies for the Library.
• Assist with the ingest of digitized materials into Library’s content management system, Alma.
• Assist with projects as assigned.

General

• Supports and amplifies the Museum’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
• Adheres to all Museum safety policies and procedures.
• Actively participates in Library teams, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Respect and exemplify the values of The Corning Museum of Glass in all interactions with colleagues, staff, volunteers, and the public.
• Ability to represent the Museum in a professional manner.
• Adheres to all prescribed organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
• Experience with database entry; extreme attention to detail.
• Library experience, desired.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
