NexGen ICF is a small business in Davenport, IA. Our goal is to reshape the construction industry one building at a time. We are growing quickly and looking for talented and dedicated individuals that want to be part of something exciting.

We specialize in insulated concrete form (ICF) construction. We build ICF Shell Structures for residential and commercial buildings. These buildings are very energy-efficient and provide extra safety (from tornadoes, fires, etc.) for the occupants.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Journeyman Carpenter. In this role, you will work on both residential and commercial projects. Your job duties include reading blueprints to understand the project’s specifications, building ICF systems and framing walls, installing window and door openings, and repairing various structures. We expect candidates to be proficient with industry hand and power tools and familiar with governmental safety regulations. We are looking for a reliable individual with excellent workmanship. All applicants must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Review blueprints to understand the scope of the project

· Fabricate and cut wood components and framework

· Install windows and door frames

· Repair wood structures

· Perform trim and finishing work

· Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly

Requirements and Qualifications

· Minimum of 4 years of construction and carpentry experience

· Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

· Attention to detail

· Basic math skills

· Communication skills (Spanish/bilingual a plus)

· A high school diploma or GED certificate preferred

· Organizational and time management skills

· Completion of a vocational carpentry program or apprenticeship is a plus

· Willingness to work some weekends

· Proficient with industry hand and power tool

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
