Job Description: House Supervisor

Shift/Hours:

• · Night Shift FT: 36 hrs/wk 7:00am-7:30pm
• · 3 night shifts a week, rotating, could include weekends

Weekend Requirement:

• · Weekends possible.

Responsibilities:

• · As a House Supervisor, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data on patient admissions, transfers, and bed availability in specified clinical areas to improve patient care and maximize bed utilization. You will ensure the patient is admitted to the most appropriate admission level of care and bed assignment available using criteria for admission and shall function as a liaison for Physicians, Nursing Leadership, Nursing Unit staff, Care Management Staff, and other integral stakeholders ensuring efficient operations. In the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer, acts as the Administrator on Duty to make administrative decision, provide direction and supervision with operational issues for all hospitals departments.
• · House supervisors work within the following responsibilities: Staffing issues, complaints, shifting of staff, utilization review. Oversee charge nurses on the floors. They also transport patients to morgue/ release to nursing homes. Take direct admits from clinic.

Must Haves:

• License: Current Washington State RN Licensure. Compact not accepted.
• Experience: 3-5 years of Acute Care Nursing Care Experience, Trauma Experience.
• Certification: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Degree: ASN
• Preferences: InterQual Experience. BSN. Experience in a variety of acute care nursing departments, Certification in TNCC preferred.

About the Unit:

• Number of Beds: 50 Bed Hospital
• Patient Population: ED Flow, inpatient, the Whole House.
• Common Responsibilities: Report to Traumas and will be the recording nurse in traumas. Manage diverse issues. Will go to Pharmacy to obtain drugs and may have to do mixing. Pharmacist is always on call.
• How many people will the candidate supervise?: Oversee charge nurses on the floors. There is a charge nurse in each department (6 total).
