Full-Time Cook - Meal Preparation / Driver

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

Community Psychiatric Institute, a leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Substance Abuse treatment in Essex County for over 50 years has an opening for a full-time Cook in our adult Partial Care Program.

If you have a passion for food & enjoy working in a helping and supportive community environment this is an excellent opportunity. Work under the direction of our Kitchen Supervisor to assist with breakfast and lunch preparation & food service in a community behavioral health social service program in accordance with the Department of Agriculture's CACFP standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and upholding standards of sanitation and safety for food prep, cleanliness and storage as required by local and State health departments.
• Under the direction of the Food Manager assist with the daily food preparation, cooking and serving of breakfast and lunch.
• Maintaining a neat appearance at all times and be able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with the patients of the program.
• Assist with meal planning under CACFP guidelines.
• Assist with shopping & pick up of food and related supplies.
• Valid NJ Driver’s license required in good standing for a minimum of 5 years.

*The ideal candidate may be asked to assist with patient transport (on a back up basis) to and from counseling program in a safe and professional manner.

Required:

• Valid New Jersey Driver's license for at least 5 years with good driving record.
• Submit to Background Check and Drug testing
• Food Safety & Food Handling knowledge.
• Knowledge of Essex County driving area.
• Patience and a supportive attitude
• Kitchen/Food prep experience
