We Require
-
Bachelor's degree in business/public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field
-
Two years of professional analytical experience
-
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

A valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card by the time of hire

Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. Required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza. Some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test

Job Contributions

Oversees the daily reconciliation and revenue collection related activity for all sites, including the Indigent Decedent Services (CIDS) accounts payable/receivable collection and the retention of all related financial documents according to required timelines and retention schedules

Identifies and resolves discrepancies between the program's daily activity summary reports, VitalChek, the credit card clearinghouse, the financial institution reports, CIDS account activity, and the County's financial management reports

Coordinates with the Bureau of Vital Records, supervisors, and staff to monitor the daily secured banknote paper provisioning, issuing, reconciliation, and inventory process

Prepares annual budget, including supporting documentation, and constantly monitors the Office of Vital Registration (OVR & CIDS) budgets and expenditures

Establishes and maintains various tracking systems for all funding sources to ensure optimal financial activity and fiscal outcomes
-
Serves as project lead in any projects that impact the program's operations of financial services, including writing and preparing scope of work proposals
-
Coordinates with the Office of Enterprise Technology to purchase or upgrade any software, hardware, technological service, or capital equipment and oversees the implementation of identified products to promote efficient business and financial operations that benefit Maricopa County's residents

Coordinates with the state, County, and Public Health Department Finance to prepare documents, gather information, and participate as requested in regular audits regarding all aspects of daily revenue collection and financial reporting processes

Constantly deals with traumatic subject matters

Works in a facility that receives and collects human remains. Travel will be required for fieldwork, attending conferences, training, and possibly varying work locations and hours

Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
